Milan target three La Liga players

Kaka and Khedira...not likely

It is just talk most likely, but, according to il Milanista Milan are lining up bids for three La Liga players, Sami Khedira and Kaka of Real Madrid and Maxwell.

Given the start to the season, it is understandable that the club are looking for alternatives who will solve the team’s gaping holes all over the park, but, these recent rumours need to be taken with a pinch of salt.

The return of Kaka seems more unlikely now than it did over the summer or even two weeks ago for that matter because since this time the Brazilian has finally hit form for his Spanish side. We Milan fans all know what Kaka at his best can do, particularly when it comes to the Champions League. Therefore, Jose Mourinho, who is attempting to wrestle the European Cup from rivals Barcelona this season, may just see Kaka as the new ace up his sleeve for this objective of his.

Unless things go pear-shaped again for our former hero or if Real sign Eden Hazard or Neymar in January, you can write off this rumour as exactly that, a rumour.

Same goes for Sami Khedira. The German international has been a key player for Real since arriving at the club last summer yet the media is in a frenzy now making it sound as if he is all of a sudden on the outer after his mistake against Levante that saw him red carded. All this has been done more in the name of selling papers, or, rather, generating more hits. Khedira is preferred before Lassana Diarra and unless Mourinho employs a more attacking formation, which he only on occasion does, he will always get the first nod to play alongside Xabi Alonso.

But, the rumour of the club signing Maxwell from Barcelona may have some substance to it. After all, he fits the typical Milan signing. He is 30 years old, he is Brazilian and he is a former Inter player. Furthermore, when it comes to left full back, we like to gamble as shown by the signing of Taye Taiwo and the overextended presence of Luca Antonini as the team’s default option for the last three campaigns.

Also in the news, Prince reportedly limped off the field during training with an injury. He is suspended for the Palermo game in any case so it is kind of good timing on his part.
