I love it. Adriano Galliani is getting on in years but has again showed that he has not lost his ability to be ironic and funny at the same time.
Talking to Gazzetta Dello Sport, our charismatic director said, “It’s a good job that Ibra did fight with Guardiola.
“If that wasn’t the case then he would still be playing his football over there with Barcelona. Instead, it’s the San Siro that can enjoy his skills.
“It’s clear that he has his own psychology and maybe he’ll throw a punch at me tomorrow, but everything has gone perfectly so far.
“He’s an extraordinary player. He has strength charisma and technique.”
Suffice to say, Galliani is thankful to Barcelona and Guardiola for making it possible for Zlatan to become a Milanista. I guess, by the same token, we the fans should be equally delighted. Gracias Pep
Galliani’s tongue-in-cheek comment is even more hilarious when you consider how much of a financial disaster the whole Ztalan affair was for the Spanish club. They gave up Samuel Eto’o and about €70 million to land the Swede. Only for Pep, I would say, to realise he made an error in judgement both in footballing terms and in the Swede’s character – Ibra’s egotistical personality was never going to fit right amongst Barca’s pretty boys.
The financial disaster was completed this past summer when Milan permanently secured the player for roughly €25 million in total.
Barca’s president has recently described his club’s purchase of Ibra as the “was the worst transaction in the history of Barcelona.”
The saying, one man’s rubbish is another’s treasure, nicely sums up things. Ibra may not have been wanted in Catalunya, but, he has become the treasure of the San Siro.
Ibra recently picked up Sweden’s Golden Foot award for a record sixth time which came as no surprise – the Scandinavian country’s current crop is not the most talented in their history.
