For now though, even though times are tough, we will see better days for Milan one day. Hopefully that day is not too far away either.

Italian football is in a lull at the moment and changes need to be made. But things will get better eventually, just in Italy things do not happen very fast.

As for our youth system, again your right, it is not completely useless.

Antonini is a good player, so is Paloschi. Abate is also coming good though he has a long way to go and for all his faults Borriello is not the worst striker in the world.

But, although Milan have produced these players, none of these players are players that you would rave about.

We should be and need to be producing talents like Iniesta and Xavi if we are to be competitive.

Our youth system is not producing the goods at the moment and this needs to change if Milan are to rely more on young players coming through the ranks rather than signing star players.

Also, I do not believe that by winning the Serie A, it would really change anything. Because even if Milan do not win it, Berlusconi, who is so delusional these days, would still come up with some excuse to justify not having to invest in new players.

Early this season, he claimed that MIlan were the best team in the world at a time when we were clearly struggling. Silvio is definitely not in touch with reality anymore.

Ideally Milan will win the league which will not only bring in extra revenue (and get on Inter’s nerves) but also make them more attractive to the big names looking for a move in the summer. Much better to sign for the champions rather than the runners up.

I read the post match comments by Galliani and he raised the issue again about TV rights and clubs needing to own the stadiums. He is absolutely right. The Italian game needs to revolutionise itself to remain competitive. Italian clubs need extra revenue to be able to bring in the best players because they won’t be able to count on the promise of European glory anymore.

I think Milan have got some good youth prospects either out on loan or breaking into the team:
Paloschi – co-owned with Parma and one of the best young Italian strikers at the moment.
Adiyah – top scorer and player of the tournement at the under 20 world cup.
Abate – quickly adapting to playing right back and showing some promise.

So there is some youth coming through. Plus lets not forget Antonini and Borriello are both youth products.

It must be tough to get the balance right between youth and star players. If they win with youth then all is good but when they lose people complain about a lack of star signings.

For a club like Milan, we should have a Torres, Villa or Drogba leading the line.

I hope we still will yet see a player of such quality play for Milan. Only a player of such quality is worthy of continuing the great line of strikers that have played for Milan, like Van Basten, Weah, Shevchenko and Inzaghi.

I do not see Berlusconi spending much money either. Therefore, we must invest in youth players and our youth system.

I think Leo will stay if Milan win or come close to winning Serie A. But Leo really is not the problem here, as we all know.

also i just dont know how come we cant produce much youth talent…milan should start some serious scouting as i guess that berlusconi wont spend much this summer..and probably he is gonna fire leonardo..

But this is a very valid point. The board will most definitely use it as an excuse not to invest and for this reason it may be better if we do not win anything at all.

Lack of depth and quality is the main issue, as it has been for two years now at least.

Without Rooney, like I said to Aurelio, United would be half the team they are. He is an amazing player. With Rooney they can win the UCL but they will not without him.
